Where is the best place to stay in Meirmbula?

Merimbula has three distinct areas, each with their own benefits.

Fishpen - The area across the bridge between the Merimbula Lake and the ocean is called Fishpen. This area is predominatly self contained apartments. There is one caravan park in this area and one motel. It is walking distance to Mitchies Jetty, Main Beach and is 900m from the Merimbula centre. It is an easy, flat walk from Fishpen into Merimbula township. 

Short Point Area - this area is further from the Merimbula town centre approx 2-4kms however it is the closest to Short Point Beach and the Merimbula Wharf. This area is where you will find the NRMA Merimbula Beach Holiday Park and Beach Cabins. This area is good for families and those who are looking for somewhere that is traditionally less busy (apart from December/January) There are some lovely walks in this area however you will need a car to get into town.

Merimbula Town & Surrounds - Merimbula Drive runs into the heart of Merimbula and is lined with Motels. This is the best spot to be for accessing the town centre without a car. There are also some apartments dotted around the Merimbula centre.
