MEMBER TALKING POINTS - Your cheat sheet!
Helping you confidently respond to guests this school holiday period.
We know many visitors are asking about fuel prices and travel costs. The key is to reassure, simplify, and highlight value.
Here’s how to guide the conversation....
1. Reassure
Is it worth the trip right now?
What to say:
We’re seeing lots of visitors still choosing the Sapphire Coast because it’s an easy, close getaway.
Once you’re here, you won’t need to drive much at all.
2. Emphasise ‘Less Driving’
What to say:
You can park the car and enjoy most of your stay from here.
Beaches, cafes, shops and activities are mostly a short walk away.
3. Promote Value (Without Discounting Heavily)
This feels expensive
What to say:
There are plenty of free and low-cost things to do here such as beaches, walks, lookouts.
We can recommend great value dining and experiences.
4. Highlight Flexibility
What guests need: Confidence to book
What to say:
We understand plans can change, so we offer flexible booking options where possible.
Encourage Shorter Stays (It Still Converts!)
Shift the mindset:
Guests may not cancel—they may just shorten.
What to say:
Even a 2–3 night stay is a great reset.
6. Keep It Positive (Avoid the Fuel Conversation)
Avoid:
Long discussions about fuel prices
Agreeing that travel is “too expensive right now”
Instead say: It’s actually a great time to visit somewhere close and easy like here.
