About the Event

Partners Twofold Aboriginal Corporation, Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council and South East Arts are pleased to be presenting Giiyong Festival again at Jigamy, just north of Eden NSW on Saturday 9 April 2022.

The award winning Giiyong Festival will take place at Jigamy, just north  of Eden. It is a multi-art form festival for the whole family,  celebrating traditional and contemporary Aboriginal culture through  dance, art, music, film,  food and spoken word performances. Giiyong  Festival is the only event of its type held within the Yuin Nation,  which stretches from the Shoalhaven River down into East Gippsland in  Victoria and across to the Great Dividing Range. Everyone is welcome to this celebration of Aboriginal culture - traditional and contemporary. Giiyong (pronounced Guy-Yong) means ‘come to welcome’ in the South Coast language as spoken by the Elders. Giiyong  Festival is bringing together some of the region and the nation's  finest Aboriginal musicians, performers, writers and presenters to share  their culture and their stories with the entire community. Headliners  for 2022 include Briggs, Shellie Morris, William Barton, Buddy Knox  Blues Band, Stiff Gins, Sean Choolburra and Nooky and so many more. Tickets on sale now Adults AUD20, Aboriginal Community Elders and Kids FREE. No pets allowed. Certified assistance dogs welcome. No camping. No Drugs, No Alcohol.
