BOURNDA NATIONAL PARK

A glorious mix of lagoons, lakes, creeks, pristine beaches and coastal forest make Bournda one of the state's most beautiful National Parks.

Located a short drive north of Merimbula along Sapphire Coast Drive, an easy way to access the park is at North Tura Beach (about 6km from Merimbula). From here, walk the 1km to Bournda Island and the lagoon, either along the beach or on the track through the trees.   There's also a 6km loop walk to take you to Bournda Lagoon via Sandy Creek.

Renown for fantastic camping, birdwatching and bushwalking, the local boardriders club also holds their "King of the Island" surf comp here in the winter.
